Hey, I'm Julie Ramsey, a visual designer passionate about solving problems through creative, research-driven strategies. I am deeply inspired by design innovation in tech, cross-cultural communication, and the process of constructing an intangible idea into something visual and interactive.

What books do you recommend?
I'm currently loving 'Creativity, Inc.' by Ed Catmull. It's brimming with wisdom and leadership insights from years of working with creatives. While an easy read, each anecdote packs punchy nuggets of wisdom that I've found myself revisiting multiple times. A quote I like is, "Fail early and fail fast." Failure is inevitable!
What is your superpower?
My superpower is enthusiastic positivity. I see the best in people and genuinely believe most are super cool humans I’d love to befriend. I enjoy spontaneously meeting strangers and am not afraid to strike up a conversation or come up with creative solutions on the spot.
When not designing, what do you do?
Since the pandemic, I’ve been tutoring English to students abroad. It’s so rewarding to watch the lightbulbs go off when they learn a new phrase and see their confidence grow. And who knew you could make Jeopardy in Figma :)
What is a creative rule you love breaking?
I secretly love turning off auto-alignments. There’s something delightfully human about manually tapping the arrow keys to reach that perfect optical spacing. I get a kick out of knowing only I know the imposter who’s intentionally, perfectly off-center.
